INVIZD Setup Guide

1. Welcome
This guide explains how to set up and use your INVIZD.
The fastest and easiest way to set up your device is through the INVIZD app.
The app provides a clear step-by-step guided experience, and is always the most current method.

This document is a complete reference for if you prefer to read the full process first, or need instructions for advanced features.

2. Important Notes Before You Begin
•  A device can only be paired to one INVIZD at a time.
If you previously set up an INVIZD or joined another ecosystem and want to start fresh, uninstall the app and reinstall the INVIZD app first.
•  INVIZD requires a normal home Wi-Fi network for initial setup.
University dorms, corporate networks, or other restricted networks may cause issues. Contact support@Invizd.com if needed.
•  Supported platforms
    •  iOS (iPhone & iPad) - fully supported
    •  macOS - supported
    •  Windows & Android - currently in alpha


3.  Standard vs Custom Configurations
Standard INVIZD • Network: Wi-Fi only • Ethernet port: None • USB port on the box: None • Cost & Delivery: Standard
Custom Option • Network: Dedicated Ethernet port (in addition to Wi-Fi) • USB port on the box: None • Cost & Delivery: Higher cost + longer delivery time

On custom units that include Ethernet, Wi-Fi can still be fully disabled in settings.

 4. What You Need
•  Your INVIZD box (powered on)
•  iPhone or iPad
•  Your home Wi-Fi network name and password
•  The INVIZD app (free from the App Store)

Optional
•  Proprietary backup disk (included with your INVIZD)
•  Your own external hard drive (must be self-powered) if you want expandable backup storage

5. Primary Setup Method (Recommended)
1.   Download the INVIZD app from the App Store.
2.  Power on your INVIZD box.
3.  Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions.
The app will guide you through connecting to your INVIZD, joining your Wi-Fi network, setting up the secure connection, registering your fingerprint, and creating your account.
Most people finish in under 10 minutes.

6. Detailed Reference – First-Time Setup
Only use these steps if you want to follow along manually or need to troubleshoot.
1.  Open the INVIZD app and allow Local Network access.
2.  Tap + and choose Set Up New INVIZD.
3.  Agree to the User Agreement.
4.  Confirm your phone is on your home Wi-Fi, then continue.
5.  When prompted, go to your iPhone Wi-Fi settings and join the temporary INVIZD hotspot (it appears as Invizd-XXXX).
6.  Return to the app - your INVIZD should now be found.
7.  Select your home Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
8.  Allow the VPN configuration when iOS asks.
9.  Register your fingerprint on the INVIZD box (scan the same finger five times from slightly different angles).
10.  Create your username and confirm.
11.  Setup is complete.

7. Inviting Other People
Owner steps
1.  In the app, go to Members.
2.  Tap + → Invite Guest.
3.  Share the QR code or verification code with the person you are inviting.
Guest steps
1.  Download the INVIZD app.
2.  Scan the invitation QR code.
3.  Enter the verification code from the owner.
4.  Follow the remaining on-screen steps.

8. Pairing an Additional Device (Same Owner)
1.  Connect the new phone to the same Wi-Fi network as the INVIZD.
2.  Open the INVIZD app and select your existing device.
3.  Authenticate with your fingerprint on the box.
4.  Allow the VPN configuration.
5.  Complete pairing.

9. Backup & Recovery
Standard Backup
1.  Go to Settings → Backup Data.
2.  Insert the proprietary encrypted backup disk.
3.  Authenticate with your fingerprint.
4.  Create a recovery password (store it safely - you will need it to restore).
5.  Start the backup.
Using Your Own External Hard Drive
1.  Insert the special adapter disk into the INVIZD.
2.  Connect your external hard drive to the USB port on the adapter disk (the drive must have its own power).
3.  Follow the prompts in the app.
4.  INVIZD will encrypt and permanently bind the drive to your device.
Once bound, the drive cannot be read by any other system.
Restoring to a New INVIZD
Restore only works on a new or factory-reset INVIZD. Follow the restore flow in the app and insert your backup disk or bound external drive when asked.

10. Software Updates
You choose:
•  Network download - convenient
•  Physical disks by mail - fully air-gapped
