What exactly is INVIZD?

INVIZD is a private hardware enclave for end-to-end encrypted text, email, files, and local storage. It is not an app wrapped around a cloud account, and it has no onboard AI.Your content stays on the device you hold, or travels only between devices you explicitly approve. Each unit supports up to 10 trusted users with separate accounts.You do not create a cloud identity to use INVIZD. Checkout still needs a ship-to name, address, and email so we can deliver the hardware and honor the warranty. That purchase record is not used to open or read your device.

How is INVIZD different from Signal or other messaging apps?

While Signal is an excellent encrypted messenger, it is still an app on someone else’s service.The difference with INVIZD however is that it is hardware you own. 
With Signal, messages are end-to-end encrypted, but you still depend on Signal’s servers for accounts, delivery, and some metadata. You cannot pick up the service and put it in a drawer.With INVIZD:• The keys are generated on your device.• Chat, email, files, and storage live on your hardware.• There is no INVIZD cloud account and no onboard AI.• Sharing is limited to people you invite — up to 10 users per unit, with invitation-only connection between trusted Boxes. Use Signal if you want a free app. Use INVIZD if you want the data itself to live on a machine you control.

How long does setup take?

Most owners finish initial setup in under 10 minutes.Keep your phone on the same local network as the INVIZD for first setup. The iOS app walks you through naming the device, adding your biometric lock, and inviting the first trusted users. Do I need internet access all the time?

Accepted Answer

No. INVIZD works on your local network without the public internet.Internet is needed only when you want to reach your Box from outside the house, or when two Boxes at different locations connect. On the local network, chat, files, and storage stay on your hardware.When you are away from home, the INVIZD app uses an encrypted tunnel to reach your own Box. Your content is encrypted before it moves. We cannot read it.Direct device-to-device connection is used first. If a firewall or mobile network blocks that path, encrypted packets may take a relay hop so the session can form. That hop cannot decrypt your content. You can run connectivity services on hardware you control. Details are in the Whitepaper.
